Colleagues for 35 years, TresMusicos is Scott Laningham (drums, percussion, vocals), Mitch Watkins (guitars), Chris Maresh (acoustic and electric basses), with Sean Giddings (keyboards/vocals) as a frequent fourth member. We perform eclectic originals and covers with a jazz underpinning.
Mitch has been a first call session & touring player in Austin since the 1970s, a prolific and Grammy-nominated producer, and longtime sideman for the late Leonard Cohen. His original compositions have been featured across five different releases under his own name. Chris is one of the most in-demand session bassists in Austin, TX. appearing on more than 250 albums. As a virtuoso bassist and composer, Chris has been a regular with guitar legend Eric Johnson for over a decade with his compoisition Rain nominated for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in the 2002 Grammy’s. Scott is regular with the award-winning soul jazz group Church on Monday, led by saxophonist Elias Haslanger, as well as with Christopher Cross, Austin-based jazz-pop collective Freedonia, Ephraim Owens, Alejandro Escovedo, and Red Young.
